World Malaria Day 2010
Every year nearly one million people die as a result of malaria. Four out of five of those deaths are in children under the age of five. Malaria can easily be prevented by using a bed net. On April 25, 2010 (World Malaria Day, 2010), the Remi Foundation introduced a new program called Books & Bed Nets. The program is expected to create awareness of the importance of bed nets in the prevention of malaria. In addition, since most of the malaria-endemic parts of the world also have low levels of literacy, the organization hopes to promote a reading culture and an appreciation of literature among children and young adults. For more information and to find out more about the program, please send an email to info@remifoundation.org
